Kansas Health Insurance Laws and Regulations

According to state law, every Kansas health insurance plan is guaranteed renewable. This means insurance companies can't cancel coverage if a policyholder gets sick or injured.

Kansas health insurance companies are also not allowed to exclude coverage or require waiting periods for residents applying for an individual health plan after leaving an employer's group plan, according to the federal law HIPAA.
