Golden Rule was founded in 1940 as a family business in the home of Michael Andrew and his wife, Mary Frances. Then in 1948, their son, Pat joined the team establishing a sales agency for the budding insurance company.

As their business expanded, the small home in Lawrenceville, Illinois just wasn't big enough. They moved into an office in Lawrenceville's town square in 1961.

By 1970, they had over 150 employees and opened a new office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Now, Indianapolis is still where their main headquarters lives.

Today, Golden Rule offers their health insurance plans in 28 U.S. states. They give their members assurance they can count on prompt customer service — 94% of Golden Rule's claims are processed in 10 days or less.
